The Pinotin N variety was developed in Germany. It has moderate vigor and a yield comparable to Pinot Noir. Its phenology is considered early (for both bud break and maturity). Wines produced from the Pinotin N variety are woodier, sweeter, and more vegetal than those from the Gamay variety. However, these vegetal notes are less pronounced than in wines made from the Syrah variety. Finally, wines from Pinotin N are rounder and sweeter than those from the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.
