The Opalor B variety was selected by INRAE as part of its ResDur2 program. Opalor B has very high resistance to downy mildew, total resistance to powdery mildew, partial resistance to black rot, and very good tolerance to gray mold. This variety is distinguished by its large, loose clusters with medium-sized berries. It is a very vigorous variety with a fairly upright growth habit and a production level lower than Sauvignon blanc or Pinot blanc. The white wines produced from this variety are aromatic, with white-fleshed fruit aromas that are particularly well balanced by acidity.
