The Coutia B is an interspecific hybrid developed by INRAE and BNIC (National Interprofessional Bureau of Cognac). It has total resistance to powdery mildew and very good resistance to downy mildew. Coutia B is vigorous, has a high yield (equal to or greater than Ugni blanc), and matures around the same time as Ugni blanc. Its enological parameters as a distillation wine are currently under study.
